In-Die Tapping is a process that creates threads directly within the stamping die. Unlike traditional tapping, which requires additional handling after stamping using specialized tapping machines or machining centers, In-Die Tapping incorporates the tapping mechanism right into the stamping die itself. The system uses the press’s vertical motion to activate the tapping device—typically through guide rods or cam mechanisms—which drives the tap to form internal threads on stamped parts simultaneously with the stamping operation.
